ACTION CENTRAL: Legislation You Should Know About: DOT Mandate

The Department of Transportation (DOT) has recently adopted a policy re: in-flight use of portable oxygen concentrators (POC's) for all airlines with flights originating in the U.S.A. It takes effect in May of 2009. Until that time, it is still up to individual carriers to set their policies around use of this type of oxygen equipment. You'll want to contact your airline of choice to see if they are adopting the DOT mandate earlier than the May 2009 deadline.
