Dear Friends,

My name is Dan Ballew. Son of J.D. Ballew. I am writing this letter to inform you of my fathers death. I know he enjoyed corresponding with you all. He had a stroke on Aug. 30th and never quite recovered from it. He will be missed by all. We really appreciate all of your prayers and concerns.

Amarillo, TX

I was diagnosed with PPH in November, 1994 after experiencing water retention and shortness of breath at age 71. The diagnoses was based on an echo that calculated my PA pressure at 60 mm. hg. I was prescribed for Lassix, Potassium, Prazosin (at bedtime), and cummadin. Subsequent echoes showed the pressure stabile around 60. In September 1997 a heart cath at UCSHC in Denver confirmed the PA pressure of 60. It also showed that I had coronary artery disease. I had six bypasses 9/30/97. All echoes since bypass surgery shows the PA pressure to be stable at 60. The photo is a shot of my bride of 54 years, Carolyn, and me.
