Spring is my absolute favorite time of year. There's the annual rebirth of my beautiful blooms (which is nice), but it also means WARMER WEATHER. Those of us with Raynaud's know how painful cold temperatures can be. As you can see, I have quite a variety of spring-blooming bulbs.
When the bulbs are all done blooming, the azaleas burst forth with glorious color. There are a couple of different colors, which I have had growing for many years.

The picture on the left was taken in the early summer, not long after I had transplanted my zinnias (which I grew from seed this year). I was amazed -- and very proud -- to see how well my zinnias performed.

I like to plant impatiens around my birdbath. You should see how many birds come along to drink during the hot summer months. My butterfly bush can be seen to the right of the birdbath. Here, it's just starting to "green up."
These are my all-time summer favorites. They're Maryland's state flower... the black-eyed susan. These were started many years ago, from a small pot that I bought at the local store for $.99 cents and they just took off.

Here are two of my very own butterflies.

Thank you for sharing your garden with all of us. My yard is pretty boring with trees and grass. I marvel at those who have such a green thumb and an eye for color. It would be lovely to sit there and watch the birds and butterflies. You have created a beautiful place not only for the creatures of the wild but also for every passerby. I'd love to have you as a neighbor so I could the fruits of your labors through the seasons.

Oh Doris, I'm so glad you posted your garden, it's beautiful. You arrange your colors so well too. You forgot to post your tomato plants (tee hee) that the neighbors swiped the fruit from. Thanks so much for sharing and I love your entire website. Your gardening buddy in Georgia, Janie
