Well I made the decision to take a medical retirement from work. I now have only 3 working weeks left. I guess I am a little unsure if this was the correct thing to do? Medical I need it I can feel myself getting more and more out of breath. So I guess I will have to stop second guessing myself about this. maybe I can write more in diary pages after I leave work.

Only 5 working days left. Do not know how I really feel about leaving I have been there a long time (27 years). But I can feel how PH has affected me at work. Hard to go up stairs ,walking from one end of shop to other is also hard. Time will tell but this can only help. bye for now

Been a long time

Well last time I wrote was back in 2001. Next few entries will be for filling in missing years!

I did retire in 2001 and spent the first 3 -4 months just cleaning out old papers and rearanging things to make it easer for me around house. Took over most of shopping duties and a lot of cooking. Found out that I have to stop watching food network and making things I saw on shows. Most were eazy but boy can you spend money and put on weight. So far about 20 lbs. Also did some updates on house (with sons help). Found out real fast I could not carry things that weight more than 20lbs up flight of stairs. Son carried items up and I spend a lot of time doing work. I was very suprised how tired I felt when work for long periods. Spent a few months first removing old carpet and than putting in new wood laminated floors. I could have someone do work but it did keep me busy enought so I did not miss going to work everyday.

Well I know that is only a little bit and I will write more later until I can bring up to present day.

More Updates

In 2002 went to my first PH conference in California. (So far only one I went to). Had a great time and meet a lot of people that posted to PHCentral. The hardest part was having to have O2 on plane that cost me as much as what I paid for ticket. Airline also set up for wheelchair use at stops plane made. Boy did i get some strange looks from people being pushed around airports. Other than that had fun and wish I could live in orange county (weather was great). Got home and wife , son ,and our two dogs were glad to see me. Found out next day that my dear wife had brought home 3 stray cats that were living in mother-in-laws garage (not happy with this). This brought us up to 7 cats (3 of ours and one stray)and 2 dogs . In the end all worked out, found home for stray cat , one died of old age, and one passed away form intestinal blockage (both this year 2006). One of dogs passed away from stroke 2003( my beagle Buddy). So now we are down to one dog , 4 cats. Dog is 12 years old, one cat is 17 and others are 6.

Well that does it for now will do more later.
