Patient Diary -- Mike Hoague

Hello All

At the end of February I went to a walk-in clinic. I wasn't sure what was wrong with me but I had all the symptoms for PH. I was very surprised when the walk-in clinic sent me via ambalance to a regular hospital. I stayed in the hospital for a week while the doctors ran tons of test on me. When I left the hospital the doctors did not tell me what was wrong with me. I had an appointment on the 13th of March with one of my doctors. Thats when she explaind I had PH. Since this is a very rare problem the doctors here in Daytona Beach do not seam to understand. All I knew it was not a good thing. It took me a week to gather the courage to find out more about PH. Thats when I found this website. I am so glad you all are here. I am uninsured and probally live in the worst state for help with something this serious. My Cardiologist says I need a transplant but wants to send me to Shands Hoaspital in Gainsville FL. There is a PH specilist that works out of that area. I hope I can get the help I need. I will keep you all posted on my quest for new body parts:).

Well I spoke to my cardiologist today. He will perform the Heart Caterazation here in Daytona then Shands hospital will see me. I am hoping this will work out.

Still very slow progress on any treatment I may be able to recieve. The last couple of days I have had more difficulty breathing. I hope I don't have to go back into the hospital again.
