June 18, 2005 - Part 30
So, you are sitting there thinking that you haven't heard from us in a very long time. By now you probably figure that Flo and I have been kidnapped. But there is one pesky little detail that doesn't fit. There is no RANSOM NOTE. Well now, if you stop to think about it, just who in their right mind, or even wrong mind, would want to kidnap two individuals who insist on spending at least as much time together as Siamese twins? Not to mention that they also take their entourage of annoying Side Effects with them everywhere they go. Plus any kidnapper would soon learn that once the bill came due for Flo's special diet there wouldn't be much left over out of the ransom money. It could be said that the moral of this story is that it just doesn't pay to have PH. So, if we weren't kidnapped, then just where WERE we? Well, what happened is this. We finally met up with Nanogram #25. And was she ever a DOOZY! She brought along something that all the other Nanograms combined didn't seem to have. I couldn't actually SEE it, so I can't say for sure, but it had all the telltale signs of being a MAGIC WAND. She started using it about three days into our visit. Yep. Magic started popping up everywhere! For instance, one day I magically felt an abundance of energy! The next day my galloping heart magically calmed itself. Right after that she did something we all KNOW is a magic trick; she made my Shortness OF Breath DISSAPPEAR!! I tried to find it on the second floor by climbing the stairs, but IT WASN'T THERE! So I bent over and looked all around for it on the floor, but when I got up IT WASN'T THERE!! Then I picked up the heavy laundry basket, carried it into all the bedrooms, but when it was all emptied IT WASN'T THERE EITHER!!! Holy Smoke! We didn't know what to do!! All we could think is that something must be RIGHT, so let's call the DOCTOR. He had us run right over, and when THAT didn't make me Short OF Breath he absolutely insisted on testing me. Around and around we walked, just me, the nurse, and Flo. We walked so fast we were almost a complete blur. You could only tell me apart from the others by the fact that I was the one wearing the oximeter. And let me tell you, the numbers on that oximeter got a real workout that day. They worked all the way up to 97% of their capacity! EVERYONE was impressed. In fact, the doctor was so impressed that he gave me and Flo a surprise to take home with us. Yep, he sure did. Want to know what it was? I'm sure you do. So I'll tell you. It was the WALKING PAPERS FOR THE DAYTIME OXYGEN! Are YOU impressed? So, just where have Flo and I been all this time? I'll give you a most appropriate one word answer. BUSY. Okay! Okay!....I'll elaborate!....Busy shopping. Busy playing. Busy visiting. Busy entertaining. Busy baking cookies. Busy getting the oil changed. Busy BREATHING. Mostly busy just LIVING! I would like to remind you that Flo and I first met on 3/29/04. And it wasn't until 4/26/05 that I was officially declared at "therapeutic dose". Sometimes it just takes a while to get where you are going. And when it takes a while, especially when it's a LONG while, it takes a lot of patience too. So if some of you should be in the process of gathering up some of your own Nanograms, and The Side Effects keep showing up to entertain you way too often, and you are not yet breathing better, just keep my journey with Flo in mind. The best relationships are not usually built in a hurry. For Flo and me it took nearly thirteen months. I hope that all of you can have the same success Flo and I have found together. And if you are amongst those who are still awaiting that happy day, the best advice I can give you is to continue patiently gathering up your Nanograms, one by one. At the same time, dig down deep into your soul to find every ounce of courage with which to endure The Side Effects. And with hope walking ahead of you, lighting the way, one day you too may be so busy that your friends will be looking for a ransom note.
