Quorum Acquires Capitol Canary

Quorum, a provider of public affairs software based in Washington, DC, has acquired Capitol Canary, a company based in Arlington, VA that offers a grassroots advocacy platform. The financial details of the deal have not been disclosed. By integrating Capitol Canary’s proven mobilization and digital advocacy tools with its suite of eight integrated products, Quorum will further establish its leadership in the government and public affairs industry. This acquisition will enable the company to serve over 2,000 clients, including more than 50% of the Fortune 100, and will have a team of 336 members dedicated to delivering a premium and integrated customer experience for public affairs professionals.

Capitol Canary, a government affairs technology company, provides a range of advocacy tools used by 1,200 organizations, including 25% of the Fortune 100, to engage and mobilize supporters, access comprehensive intelligence on all levels of government, and obtain contact information for officials and staffers. Nonprofits, associations, and companies rely on Capitol Canary for donor insights, grassroots advocacy, get-out-the-vote (GOTV) initiatives, strategic communications, and stakeholder engagement to gain the competitive advantage needed to succeed in their policy battles. In 2021, Capitol Canary acquired KnowWho, a policymaker contact provider, and GovPredict, a tool for federal, state, and local intelligence. Jeb Ory, co-founder and President of Capitol Canary, will join Quorum’s Board of Directors. Ory co-founded Capitol Canary, originally known as Phone2Action, with Ximena Hartsock in 2013.

Quorum, led by CEO Alex Wirth, is a software company that serves thousands of public affairs professionals. Its products are utilized in Congress, all 50 state legislatures, numerous major U.S. cities, the European Union, and more than two dozen other countries. The company’s clients include 45% of the Fortune 100, as well as major trade associations, advocacy groups, embassies, nonprofits, and government agencies such as Coca-Cola, Walmart, General Motors, the U.S. Travel Association, the Human Rights Campaign, the United Nations Foundation, and the U.S. Air Force.
